"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

Untitled CommentGreat job in adding this very nice mountain and state highpoint. I liked your photos and they deserve better votes on a few than what others gave you. Great job though and keep up the good work! Have a good one!

Untitled CommentThanks. They pretty much got 4 star votes, for once. My Bearfence and Hazeltop photos got a few bad votes, and they aren't that bad.

Untitled CommentGood page. I'm surprised no one did one for this mountain earlier, and it's nice to see a page for the highest peak in my home state.

Untitled CommentThis page needed to be put up. I had been reluctant because I had no photos (since I climbed it at night with a friend in January of 2002). But, when I found some good photos on the web, I decided to put up this important Appalachian summit. Thanks for the vote!

Untitled CommentGreat job! In January of 1994, after a nice weekend backpacking trip on the Hemlock Falls Trail ( 30 miles East of Brasstown Bald ), we decided to drive up and see if the roads were open. They were, and the resulting photographs were impressive. I have posted a few of them, in the hopes of giving everyone a winter perspective. The high temperature on that Sunday afternoon was in the teens and Brrrrrr.... was it Cold!

AtlantaCan you see Atlanta from Brasstown Bald?
hgrapid - Apr 21, 2007 6:12 pm - Hasn't voted
Again, not closeNope, Atlanta is very far away. You can see lots of mountains in the distance. That's about it.

Re: Again, not closeAre you sure? I havn't been there but I did measure the distance to the Bank of America building at 1023 feet high and 82.6 miles from the bald. The Northeast edge of town is about 70 miles distant. I would think it would take a cold winter's day to check

Not in the EastYou can't see distances that far in the East. You just can't. Only in the West can you see that far, on a good day. It is just the way that visibility works in the East. If you want to see Atlanta from above, you should visit Stone Mountain.
