I've been up there past "mushroom rock" (the very large orange-colored rock he talks about). We turned around shortly beyond that point. This is the best description I've found so far of that confusing area. Pretty accurate I think. We were heading up towards the right hand chute when we turned back. It was pretty scary. Next time I think I'll try the scree field as he calls it, even though he recommends the chutes. I've been injured by falling rock before and it's no fun. Thanks for your excellent post.
