"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Durrance & Walt BaileyClimbed with Lansdon from DT Lodge. Combined a few pitches (4 total). Quick climb, off width stuff made it a bit tougher than I expected. Nice day; did P1 of El Matador after.
Topped out again 6/7/20 (next day) via Walt Bailey. Did P1 of El Cracko Diablo after.

Barely made itI'm not really a climber so went for the summit with a DT Lodge guide after one day of practice. The off-width chimney on the pseudo-Weisner route seemed impossible, but somehow I got up it. Kind of fun to have your climb in doubt, makes it more exciting.

Durrance Route on a hot dayDecided to go fast and light, but should have taken more water. Stuck behind 2 slower parties, we were parched in the 85 degree heat. Good route and great summit. Hard to call it a classic with all of the off-width. An earlier start would have helped, but still a fun day with Todd.

durrance routeclimbed the durrance route with A.J., led P1, P2 and P6. the route took 15 hours as we were stuck behind a group of three, two of whom shouldn't have been on the tower, that wouldn't let us past. the climbing was great, but 2 hr naps in between pitches is an experience i don't need to go through again.

Durrance/Soler/TadThis was my second lead climb ever. It was AWSOME! Met Frank Sanders near the top. He was kind enough to share some water with me. Thanks Frank! I have since climbed both the Soler and TAD routes on the tower.
