Hiked this peak (Main Summit and East Summit) a couple of times summer and winter 2003/4 when I lived in the Tri Cities, WA. Great views from the top!

Great In The Snow(shoes)
I've been up on Moscow Mountain a bunch of times in various conditions. The best, though, was driving up the Troy side to the first parking lot in winter, then snowshoeing to the east summit by way of the old growth cedar grove on the north side of the mountain. Doing basically any Winter Stuff here is highly recommended.

Bike rides
Been on this summit as well the main summit, west twin, east twin, and paradise point many times, pretty much always by bike. Great trail system.

Quick Stop
Drove to East Moscow Mountain just before a quick hike up Moscow Mountain. Sun went down earlier than I expected, ended up doing the hike in the dark. Trip Report

Snowshoed
Hiked to the main summit from my front door in Moscow (20+ miles roundtrip). Snowshoed the last three or four miles to the top. The summit was covered by clouds all morning which (of course) cleared away about fifteen minutes after I started back down. Once I was on the mountain, I didn't see another person the entire day.

Drive to the top
With my trusty Jeep I was able to drive all the way to the lookout. Gates were open and the road, although a bit washed out, was passable. I do believe i picked up a munitions round in my tire from this drive however and my tire did need to be replaced.

up to primary summit
Parked at the 1st gate which was closed. About 3 miles with 1200 feet of elevation gain. Summit socked in with clouds, no views at all. Drove up to Bald Mountain L.O. following this.
Climbed many times by bicycle and by foot and dry weather and snowy weather. I miss this playground.

Main Summit
Climbed the main summit from the base via the SW ridge. Park on the road just above the last house and go cross country, some bushwhacking required. Takes a couple of hours. There is a hard rock mine, 40 ft deep tunnel, just a few hundred feet before the summit. Much of this is private property now. There is a home on the summit last I checked. I did this route a couple of times in the 1970's including a winter ascent and camped on an exposed ledge high on the south side just before leaving this area for good.

Great fall view
Surprised we could drive to the summit. All the barriers were open, perhaps due to hunting season?
Awesome views with a fire convection column rising perhaps 30 miles to the southeast.

Nice local hikeNice hike, mostly good shade on a hot day. Lots of thimbleberries to be had roadside, it took us twice the time it should have.
