Not bad
This route was not as difficult as Lawlor's west ridge - fewer murderous plants and less unavoidable scree. Several outstanding viewpoints along the way!

Hiked to Straweberry via Red Box
Hike to the top of Strawberry Peak via Red Box. which is now open. Trial is in good shape all the way to the saddle with Lawlor Mountain. he trial is still obvious after that, but it's a tough and very steep trial to the top, with minimal scrambling in a couple places. For someone starting over, it was a difficult hike, but very rewarding, and felt much more wild than every other hike I've done in the San Gabriels so far.
Trip report to come, if I can find the time to draft it.

Done twice with Mt. Lawlor
Did this hike twice with my son. The first time there was quite a bit of ice before the saddle which made for an interesting outing.
A very enjoyable hike with great views at San Gabriel Front Range. Last mile up to Strawberry Peak much more streneous than the beginning but very fun. I remember having had near misses with those prickly yuccas.

Father's Day Hike
Have done this route on other occassions, but this time I had my family come with me as a Father's Day present. Every time I do this route, I'm convinced that the ridge from Lawlor Saddle to the summit of Strawberry is well more than a mile. But the sign says 1 mile.
