"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

HP #36Such an interesting and cool state highpoint. I walked all over the neighborhood to make sure I hit the highest point haha, which really was indiscernable. Did it as part of the weekend running the Boston Marathon.

Day trip to PhillyFlew in to Philly and back home in same day. Hit highpoint #34 for me, then spent the rest of the day in Philly checking out historical sites and eating cheesesteaks.

Larvitour Stop #18Made it up here on a beautiful late-spring day. The approach was tough (I muddled my directions and wound up cutting through neighborhoods in downtown Wilmington, plus it took me a couple of passes to find Ebright Rd.), but the views from the summit were worth it. :)

Break in the Sidewalk! In New Jersey for work and thought I would stop off to see the highest point in Delaware. I think this is the closest high point to the road that I have experienced. Interesting that they paved over the geodetic marker and that a vigilant resident had the sidewalk partially removed. Thanks for your help!
Round trip - 10 minutes. Elevation gain - 2 feet!

Finally stoppedWe drive by on US-1 and US-322 all the time, but never actually stopped before. On a trip to First State National Monument in New Castle and Woodlawn, we tagged this on as a finishing flourish to our afternoon. Highpoint #8!

#35Well, damn...I should have read the climbers' log before passing through. It was after midnight, I was on my way to Shenandoah from PHL, and I did not want to make too much of a stir in the neighborhood. So I missed getting my pic of the benchmark.
Ah, well. Fun to visit, but Dogfish Head is probably a more worthy Delaware stop...:-)
