Wow!Truly a breath-taking photo. I'd be interested to know what type of camera/film, etc.?

Credit goes to my climbing partner RomanThe whole thing was spectacular - we were bivying on a small ledge, big enough just for 3 people and had this just in front of us.... simply amazing and one of the greatest moments I had in the mountains. Roman used 4MP Canon Powershot in automatic mode (I think).

Fantastic!I love the light reflecting off the snow. Personally, I'd photoshop that damn contrail right out of existence.

Fantastic...andthe best part is Roman shot it at 14,000' engaged in a climb...makes it ten times better than some road shot. Excellent work. Cheers!

UnbelievableDon't know how I missed this one till now?!?!?! Amazing sight; fascinating and scary at the same time, simply jaw dropping! Fantastic capture! Is it possible there was no storm from this spectacular cloud which looks like the edge of some crazy front that is approaching?!

Re: UnbelievableNope, that's the typical 'Sierra Wave' cloud formation. They're actually pretty darn common --- just from this angle and time of day it looks spectacular.

Re: UnbelievableThanks - no storm from this one, next morning the sky was pretty much clear. I think the storms in the Sierras usually come from the west, from the ocean, this cloud was hanging on the east side of Sierras.
