Just climbed Mt. Fuji in October and reached the summit on 10/28/05 around 8:30 A.M. I left 5th station around 2 PM the previous day and had a bivouacked on the mountain without a tent just in a sleeping bag. The night was MUCH colder than expected and it was hard to sleep at all. Last week one Czech guy died there from slipping. From my observation Mt. Fuji is safe if you are careful and do not take unnecessary risks. More details and photos at www.tomasv.com
