This is a great page. I have always wanted to get out and climb at Index, but have never had the balls (read skills) to do it. Perhaps one of these days ill just throw caution to the wind. Thanks for the page and all the great info!

Re: Great Page!
Thanks for the vote. There are plenty of easier routes there. No need to delay.
Tazz,
sandbag = rating something easier than it actually is/feels (ex: Aries is rated 5.8 but when I got on it, it felt stiffer than many 5.9's).

Re: yes
No worries. It means that the actual difficulty is higher than the rating implies. For example, the third pitch of Aries is rated 5.8 in the guidebook, but feels more like 5.9+. That's a sandbag.
There's a new rakkup Index guidebook available Index Town Walls by co-authors Chris Kalman and Matthew VanBiene. Chris and Matt have been doing a lot of work at Index to replace bolts and spread out the crowds.

Re: yesThere are several scramble routes. The problem is that they are big sandbags and all 5th class!

Re: Thanks for adding! Thanks Jim! You should come up here and check it out, before the weather get too bad. This weekend looks nice, for example. :-)
