"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

Traverse from LincolnTraverse from Lincoln and descended via Government Canyon.
Summit registry box is full of Geotrash.
Ran into a party on the summit- 2nd time this winter I've had unexpected company on an obscure NV desert summit.
Cold clear winter day with visibility to Mt Rose to the west and the Toiyabe Crest on the east.
Pics and commentary are here.

Job Peak at NightStarted assent at around 10 p.m. and obtained the the summit at about 1 a.m. Started out warm but was very windy and cold by the time we got to the top. Even in the dark you can get a feel for how big the 40 mile desert is far below. The Stillwater Range isn't very wide so we could look right down into the valley on both sides of the range.

West FaceAlways a bear for punishment I drove in as deep as I could get in my jeep and assaulted the west face directly from the end of the Gov't trail canyon, 2000 feet in less than a mile but due to the long night of celebrating for a friend birthday this felt like a 10 mile trip. thankfully the view and the super cool little summit block made it worthwhile.

West RidgeChallenging day hike--lots of loose rock, quite steep. Blustery and cold. We rewarded ourselves with excellent Mexican food in Fallon on our way back to Reno.

Route Climbed: West Ridge Date Climbed: April 11, 2005Climbed Job and Lincoln on the final day of a 3-day tour of Northern NV peaks, the peak selection based mostly on Scotty's and Barry's info on here. Wonderful views, and some fun scrambling too--highly recommended!

Route Climbed: West Ridge Date Climbed: March 31, 2003Climbed on an overcast day with bearbnz. Did the 3700' 3-mile ascent in 1:50, and then did the 3+mile traverse to Lincoln. Car-to-car total was around 5:30, with plenty of pictures taken in spite of the lighting conditions. Neither register had been signed since 2000.
