Mount Shasta

Another stupendous sunrise on Mount Shasta. I think the south side of the mountain is my favorite. The drama of Mud Creek Canyon and Sargents Ridge is incredible. Worth noting is that half of Squaw Meadow is visible in this shot, as well as the scrambling route to the west rim of Mud Creek Canyon. Dec2013.

Wow!

Awesome, awesome pic of Shasta. Gives a very different sense of the mountain than views from the west. Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks much! I agree, the south side is much different from the typical shots from the west, which I think is the most boring side of Mount Shasta. Personally, I think the northern and southern sides are the most photogenic and of the two, the south is the most dramatic.
