Nice work

On the traverse and the trip report, too.

I guess I'm just an old pantsy - that traverse doesn't even look fun to me. ;) Looks like the stuff of nightmares for this ole gal.

Thanks for sharing,

Sarah

Re: Nice work

thanks Sarah for the nice words. Let's just say I'm glad the adventure is over. :) But something I'm glad I ended up doing as it tought me many things.

Re: Front page!

Thanks man! Obviously I didn't learn my lesson with staying away from crappy rock because I'll be back on mud rock here with you on Wednesday! haha!

Dude...Sick

That's some sick climbing dude. I love ridge traverses, my favorite type of climbing, but now I know of one I won't do.

Re: Dude...Sick

Here is to solid rock! ;) Ridge traverses are like being on the summit all day. Amazing!

Good Job

Looking at your 14er posting this summer, realized we were on Snowmass the same day...looking down the ridge and wondering... Great beta on a 'fifth great traverse' in Colorado.

Re: Good Job

I remember Mike or someone was mentioning they knew someone who was climbing Snowmass that day. Great weather!

Great story!

Sounds like an epic climb. Like most long climbs, especially the scary ones with rotten rock, you can only enjoy them afterwards. To quote Mark Twight: "It does not have to be fun, to be fun". Keep up the good climbing, and writing. Cheers!

Re: Great story!

Thanks for the Mark Twight quote. It was a kind of fun that was enjoyed afterwards ;)

Congrats!

It's an incredible accomplishment! I'm not sure I'll ever have it in me to attempt it, but it's nice to know that it CAN be done! Great work.

Nothing better...

...than ridge traverses. Sometimes nothing scarier, either!

got a free hand?

judging by the amount of time you were on the route and the very small amount of video, I'd say you didn't have many chances to pry your hands from the rock (and I see why!)

Re: got a free hand?

To be honest I was so focused most of the time that making a video or even taking a picture didn't occur in my head especially in the crux section. Just keep moving! I tried to photograph and film as much as possible though.
