Pass Mountain Loop
I've done the wind cave several times, along with the south summit, and even parts of the ridgeline where the fun scrambling is, but never made it to the summit. This time I went North around the Pass Mountain loop, then came down the ridge north to south before dropping down to the Wind Cave to meet my family who had hiked up to the wind cave. Sore from crushing down Thompson the day before so took it nice and easy. Climber's log had no one for several weeks, but a couple signed in 2 hours before me, although I never saw them.

Nice climb/walk along the ridge
Slowed by a co-worker who tried to bring his dogs; but the other three of us made it.

Great Ridge Scramble
Great scramble along the ridge, did it solo. Did not see a soul once past Windy Cave. Nice clear weather (low 70s) and great views in all directions.

I wasn't even close to that cholla.
Perfect day in the low 70's and once past Wind Cave and up on the ridge not a soul to be found. Some route finding and lots of class 2/light 3 scrambling. Watch for the jumping cholla! There are a pair of binoculars in the register so use them for the great views of the Superstitions and Weavers Needle.

Lovely hike, cool for May
Have hiked to Wind Cave (also known as "Lots of Bees" Cave) about 5 times over the years, but today, went all the way to the north summit. No one but me up there. Fun scrambling, and pleasant weather for this time of year. All the Palo Verde were blooming, so the whole desert looked like a big yellow landscape. Just gorgeous. Trip Report

Wind Cave Trail/Ridgeline
Very cool once above the Wind Cave area. Up on the ridgeline, it didn't look like there was much sign of use. It's strange seeing so much city around, but the peak had a wilderness feel to it up higher.

Nice hike, did solo. Great view on summit, you can see Saguaro Lake, Weavers Needle, Flatiron, Four Peaks, nearly the whole valley. Bring plenty of water and let someone know you are going up there. I dont think too many people summit by the looks of the register.

I did this hike solo. This mountain is well worth the $5 fee to enter the park. I have to say that if the destination is wind cave, it is certanly not worth it. Wind Cave was kinda lame, but the rest of the hike was simply increadible. The Goldfield mountains are really beautiful. I did not know that there was such beauty near Pheonix outside of the Superstition Mountains. The off trail part of the mountain was really fun as well.
