Great day out
Although rgg reported getting blown away in his tent at Red Tarn less than 36 hours earlier, I had a perfect day out, starting in Patterdale at 6.30am. By 8am I was on top of St Sunday Crag, having discovered the delights of Pinnacle Ridge. Went on to Farfield and then Helvellyn, before descending Striding Edge - another treat. I hope to visit again in April this year.

Wonderful loop
Penelope May and I hiked this wonderful route on December 29, 2004. We endured heavy snow conditions, whiteout on the summit and interesting route finding on the entire loop. This was our first winter visit to the Lake District and our first winter time on any of it's wonderful hills. Great day in a wonderful, wintery setting.
