Re: Great! Thanks Eric! For many years I have seen photos of Mount Daniel from the north, but the smaller peaks of Dip Top and Lynch are rarely climbed. It's worth a trip to Dip Top Gap just for the view of Pea Soup Lake and the Lynch Glacier.

CongratulationsI'd say you are now sufficiently prepared to tackle Olympus Mons.

Re: CongratulationsI wish. If only we had mountains that large here on earth.

Man, that's crazy!I don't really keep track of my stats, but sometimes I wish I did. Milestones like this are really cool, congratulations! Here's to the next million! :)

Re: Man, that's crazy! Thanks very much! Do you use Peakbagger? It's a nice easy way to keep track of a lot of fun nerdy stuff like gain and lists and whatnot. That's how I figured it out. Even if you don't keep track of stats it's still an excellent resource.

Next million...here we come! I figure the way you've been going it shouldn't take much more than a year or two!
Congrats and Happy climbing!

Re: Next million...Thanks Marc! When I realized that I had made another million, I started to wonder how long the first and second took, so I looked up the dates. Now I also can't help wondering how long the next will take. So far I'm at 358k gain for the year, but I think it would be very challenging to go above 400k in a year. However my girlfriend Heather did 700k gain this year just on the Appalachian Trail, plus another 200k+ with me, so she might have broken a million in a single year. Happy climbing to you as well! :)

CongratsCongrats man! 2,000,000 vertical feet will probably take me 6 lifetimes ;-) (or I should move closer to the mountains)
Also: Great shot!

Re: CongratsThanks! The photo credit goes to Josh Lewis. I appreciate him allowing me to post his photo.
I've got a climbing friend who lives in Amsterdam. It must be tough, but he seems to get out a lot.

Well done!A beautiful photo too. I remember that when I moved here in 1983, the Lynch Glacier covered about 3/4 of Pea Soup Lake. Still beautiful, but a little sad. Keep on climbing. You're an inspiration to us old folk.

Re: Well done! Thanks! You are the one of the ones we look up to.
I find the progression of Pea Soup and recession of Lynch fascinating, but also sad. I'd be curious to see photos from the time when the entire lake was covered. It seems like the color of the water is also darkening. All that silt must be settling a bit.

CongratsA superb shot and a great result!
I keep a record of my climbing, but I've never tried to sum the differences in height....
Happy climbing!

Re: CongratsThank you. Any idea how many pitches you have climbed? Or perhaps an estimate? Happy climbing! :)

Re: CongratsI have no idea how many pitches i have climbed, but I have gained 1000 summits at the end of 2011. At moment I have not made the upgrade.... but I hope to climb again a few more! We say "incrociamo le dita", "let cross our fingers!"
Thank you and happy climbing to you, too!
