Nice desert view
Took the PCT to the cross country section. Skipped the gully and returned the same way. If I ever go back, I'd attempt from the east ridge.

PCT there and back
Via the PCT - a very pleasant walk with minimal bushwhacking. I'd recommended this route.

Scodie and Robbers Roost

Fiancee said no more mountains
Guess the Cow Heaven Canyon route was a bit more brutal than I expected. My fiancee claims shes done with my peak addiction. Claims she's going to be a base camp wife after this h ike.

From 178
Followed HPS Route 3 up and the steeper, more direct gully on the way down. There were some small patches of snow left, but no traction devices needed, although the descent gully had some slippery sections (I was too lazy to put on the microspikes I was carrying though).

South Face Direct
2nd of two peaks for our warm-up day before Telescope. Instead of taking the HPS route, Adam & I elected to go straight up from Cow Meadows. Scree, sand, boulders, and finally huge monoliths. 2 hours after much rock climbing and false summits, we hit the top as the sun was going down. Following the HPS route down only took 30 minutes -- 1200' of scree helps.

Snow Climb
Snow climb from Walker Pass TH. Continuous snow from 5,500' to the summit. The last 1.5mi was bushwhacking through scrub and boulders. Nice views.

From Hwy 178
I recall it was more fun than Matthew indicates below (that's a recurring theme in our opinions). We used snowshoes for much of it which was pretty cool. And Matthew got lost for a couple of hours on the return. He's probably forgotten that part. Trip Report

Hiked up this with Bob after Russell/Backus in the morning. Pretty much a slog.

Well worth the trudge!
Slight breeze on an otherwise splitter day. Incredible views. Not a soul around. I can't remember the last time I hiked a peak and never saw another soul car-to-car.
