LCW always deliver!
Beautiful October day in of the most beautiful ranges in Colorado.
Well traveled trail to the top of Hankins pass, from there some navigation and bushwack to the summit. Some nice views of entire LCW area,

Very nice hike. The bushwhack from Hankins Pass really was fairly painless with lots of open areas.

From Twin Eagle Trailhead
A bit of an odd place to start the hike, but had already been up the trail from Spruce Grove earlier in the winter and wanted a change of pace. From the TH to Hankins Pass went very quick, but from the pass to the summit took a LONG time plowing through the deep snow.

Made it a longer hike than necessary after bushwhacking too far east from Hankins Pass. A great summit though! Agree with misztflip that mostly open routes can be found from Hankins Pass to the summit. Bushwhacked down the south slopes back to the trailhead; picked the wrong route as downfall, undergrowth got pretty nasty.

Tour de Tarryall
I started at Twin Eagles and hiked up Tarryall first. I scrambled down the backside and summited Catamount before bushwhacking down to Lake Park and on to Hankins Pass. I for one didn't find the bushwhack to the summit all that bad. With a little patience one can find rather open walking all the way up.

From Spruce Grove Campground
My wife and I hiked to the top of this prominent summit. We saw quite a few people on the trail to Hankins Pass but apparently no one opted for the summit as we had it to ourselves.

We hiked this summit on one of those short-sleeves and sunshine Colorado autumn days. We made fast progress up to Hankins Pass, then the fun began. The timber is very thick to the summit, and two people plus three dogs moved VERY SLOWLY until we reached the Hayman Burn. Hiking partner: Husband. Dogs: Lady, Bing & Lela.
