Re: You are welcome,I think MOST are glad! In my humble opinion,
GSENM is a National Treasure, along with Zion,
Bryce, Cedar Breaks and Grand Canyon!
I'm one of those who can shead heat easier than retaining it. But ... I'm also one who
thinks the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Go figure!!!

Re: You are welcome,It is a treasure! Not only for recreation but for scientific reasons as well. The locals tend to feel that it is their land though, but in reality it belongs to everyone in the US, not just those that live here near it.

Aaaaaaaaah !Had to think about that one for a moment! You're right, Tanya! When I was inside Zion National
Park, I was humbled by the awesome SPLENDOR. And at the Visitor Center, I did feel like I was a part of something ... part-owner!!! Then, AFTER I LEFT Zion, I felt like an average tax-paying American, and my wallet was just a liittle bit lighter.(Actually, I had to CHECK to see if my wallet was still there!) My heart was
lighter too, knowing I had spent time in an incredible place. Now, I just need to refill
my wallet! Such is life in the wild, wild west! Thanks for giving me some inspiration!

I haven't visited many canyons in my life. Seeing your photos makes me want to see some more.

Re: Golden wallsIt's a different world inside those high walls. Usually chilly, dark and often barren of most thinks usually seen in nature, but they have a beauty all their own.

That's what I find interesting. I'm so used to the wide open spaces of the high plateaus of the world and it would be nice to explore "a new world".
