Snowboarding the west face gully
We were able to start skinning from the highway and all the way up the bowl just north of the summit. Descended the west face gully. We were initially planning to climb the west face gully with (boot) crampons, but it was quite wintry back there for being May 1st. This was after a big snow year, with February being the snowiest month in Sun Valley's history.

Ankle Twisting Fun!
It was the last day of my buddy's visit before he went back to PA so we decided to try one last peak... We got shut down lol. There was quite a bit of recent snow, and by the time we had reached 10,000 feet, we had already survived quite a bit of ankle-twisting, postholing, boulder-hopping. Now, we were beginning to sink to our waists in spots and the sun was beating down on the exposed ridge... Time to turn around and try again another time!

Windy as hell.
I couldn't believe the wind. I had planned on traversing over to Cerro Ciento, but I got tired of constantly holding my hat on my head and feeling like I was going to be blown off the mountain!

Steep
It's a steep climb. Took advantage of the nice fall weather we're having and did the traverse to Cerro Ciento. But it was a long walk back to the truck.
Climbed up a couloir on the West Face. Absolutely perfect snow! Then we traversed the ridge over to Cerro Ciento. Great views and an even better glissade back down.

scree and mushy snow
not particularly fun to climb with soft snow and lots of scree. Good views

Traverse
Very straight forward scramble up SW ridge to a summit with high winds. Traversed over to Cerro Ciento, then back down King Creek to ID-75 and back.

West Gully Snow Climb
Splattski found us a sweet snow filled gully on the west side of the peak that we used to get to the ridge. A fantastic day to be in the mountains. Here’s a write up and some photos.

Climbed West Ridge
Windy day in the Boulders. Startled some Elk on the way up. Great views from the top.

A nice dusting of snow made everything nice and slick up high. Beautiful views at the top but I had to make a run for it as giant thunderheads built up.
