Re: Stunning picThanks guys! It's a stunning place! I want to go back there sometime when the White Rock Lakes are melted out because I failed to get a reflection shot of Dome with any of them. :-)

Re: Stunning picYou're in! I just don't know when. Would you like to do the Ptarmigan Traverse? That's probably the most enjoyable way to get there. I've wanted to do the entire extended route from Cascade Pass to Image Lake and out for years, but it's a big undertaking and it's hard to find 4-6 people who want to do it. The other way to get there is the way you went in - Downey/Bachelor creeks/Cub Lake. If I were going to the White Rock Lakes again I'd go up over Itswoot Ridge, climb Dome, then traverse the Dana Glacier from the Dana/Dome col west of the peak. Then on the return I'd want to go over Spire Col and see the view I missed when we did the Ptarmigan in 1988. We had a miserable day on the highest col of the Traverse - driving rain and fog, so I'd love to see that view someday. But I dread Bachelor Creek!! :-) -Bob

So elegant! The perfect quintessential alpine photograph. Kudos to you Bob, you were the one who labored to get to that spot and fussed with your camera to get it just right.
