Double CNice article for one of my favorite climbers. His name is Riccardo, not Ricardo. Also, Grandes Jorasses, not Grandess.
I haven't read the book you cite, but I'm a bit surprised he'd mention Lago di Garda rather than Lago di Como, on the right branch of which Lecco is located.

Re: Double CThanks brenta for informing me about double c and for Jorasses.
This about Lago di Garda I have not read in his book but in other book where it was written how he loves Lago di Garda. But of you two correct I will correct it to Lago di Como. Thanks!
Cheers!

Cassin.....really a tough guy!
One of the greatest, without doubt.
Very nice article, and now who's next? ( I've got a couple of ideas too... )
Ciao!

Maybe you could add...... something about the Denali expedition. It's one of the most important successes of the Ragni though countless toes were lost in the epic on the Cassin Ridge (sic!)

Re: Maybe you could add...I have already mentioned this ascent. Yes, it was amazing success.

Epic enterpriseVery good article, congrats.
Riccardo Cassin is one of my favourite climbers.
Everytime I go under the north face of Badile I try to understand how was possible to climb it. At the end it was an epic enterprise.

There's......this story I heard about Cassin which might be a bit made up but it made me smile anyway. It says that Cassin wanted to make the first ascent of the Eiger northface and left Italy to do so. The first difficulty he encountered however proved to be insurmountable; there was something wrong with his passport and he wasn't allowed into Switzerland! Furious, he decided to go to Chamonix and climb grandes j. instead. With succes ;-)
Nice page!

Grazie Riccardo"There has been, there will always be... each time add:'Cassin' ; and until there will be climbers in the super-refuges of the future or, latter (who knows?), on some other planet, names will come back in conversations : Torre trieste, Cima Ovest, Badile, Walker, McKinley, Jirishanca... and those names will slam always as banners.
Until there will be alpinists, they will mention the face of the indomitable conqueror who never backed down, who only looked but ahead, with eyes which could challenge all nature powers or reflect all the goodness of a man, a look able to pierce stones, or sweet and wonderstruck as the one of a child, eyes of steel and sky."
Georges livanos in CASSIN, once upon a time the 6th grade (1982)
