Beargrass beneath Rainier

Beargrass beneath Rainier

Subalpine meadow shot taken in the mid-1980s, when I was living in Washington. The white flower is the Subalpine Mariposa Lily, which is closely related to the Avalanche Lily. They normally grow in volcanic soils, and bloom just after the snow melts in late Spring.

So you were climbing around Rainier in the mid-80s

while I was just starting my Mommy decade. For about ten years I was working and raising our son. I really missed getting out until he was older!

FYI - We are tentatively planning our first trip to Seattle and Rainier for this summer!

Re: So you were climbing around Rainier in the mid-80s

Yes - and the "shocker" is, I didn't own a
cell phone or computer back then. It gave me
more "free time" for exploring Washington state, where I was born back in 1957.

One final question - have you ever heard the
classic hit, "Your Mama Don't Dance And Your Daddy Don't Rock & Roll? ??"

(Always kidding ... my heartfelt regards go out to you & your future endeavors, Kathy.)
