Overview
This isolated and slender pyramid rises above the Pellaud of Rhêmes Notre Dame separating the Vallons of the Entrelor to the North and to the South Vaudaletta. It consists of three main ridges (Eastern, Southwestern and Northwestern) and a secondary North-northwestern reaching the small Summit called locally "la Treutse" (2.576m) with many steep slopes above the two mentioned valleys. His normal route does not coincide with that reported in the Italian Alpine Club "Guidebook of Western Alps 1896" by Giovanni Bobba and Luigi Vaccarone through the Northeast wall because takes place on steep rocks and unsafe, but it is preferable that through the Eastern Ridge, shorter and safer, reached along the Vallon of Vaudaletta, starting from Thumel old Village. Beautiful views of the Valley of Rhêmes and mountain ranges Punta Fourà-Cima d'Entrelor-Pointe de l'Aouille-Mont Tout or Taou Blanc to the East, while in foreground stands the Grande Rousse (3.607m) with its large Eastern Wall below its two Summits.
Questa isolata e slanciata piramide si eleva al di sopra del Pellaud di Rhêmes Notre Dame separando i Valloni di Entrelor verso Settentrione e della Vaudaletta a Meridione. Formata da tre creste principali (Orientale, Sudovest e Nordovest) e da una secondaria a Nord-nordovest che raggiunge la Sommità chiamata in loco "la Treutse" (2.576 m) con altrettanti ripidi versanti sopra i due valloni citati. La sua Via Normale non coincide con quella riportata nella Guida del C.A.I. "Alpi Occidentali 1896" a cura di Giovanni Bobba e Luigi Vaccarone tramite la Parete Nordest poiché si svolge su rocce ripide e poco sicure, bensì è preferibile quella tramite la Cresta Orientale, più breve e sicura, raggiunta percorrendo il Vallone della Vaudaletta, con relativa partenza dal vecchio Villaggio di Thumel. Belle vedute sulla Valle di Rhêmes e sulla catena montuosa Punta Fourà-Cima d'Entrelor-Pointe de l'Aouille-Mont Taou Blanc ad Oriente, mentre frontalmente si eleva la Grande Rousse (3.607 m) con la sua grande Parete Est al di sotto delle sue due Vette.

Getting There
BY CAR:
- From France: through the Mont Blanc Tunnel or the Col du Petit Saint Bernard: you can drive on SS.26, following directions for Aosta and, before arriving in Villeneuve, turn right towards Introd. Alternatively, you can take Motorway A5 (at Courmayeur or Morgex) and exit at Aosta Ovest.
- From all the other directions: get to the Aosta Ovest exit of Motorway A5. Then drive on SS.26 Aosta, in the direction of Courmayeur; just after Villeneuve turn left towards Introd.
BY PLANE:
- Aeroporto "Corrado Gex" Saint Christophe (Aosta).
Enter the valley and, at the fork between Valsavarenche and Val di Rhêmes turn to the right (Rhêmes). Cross all the villages to arrive to Rhêmes Notre Dame and follow to Thumel (car parking). Wanting, herefrom, following the dirt road on the right side (ascending) of the valley, or, better with snow, a track on the left that passing throught some fine woods leads you to the Rifugio Benevolo (2.285m).
Approach and Route
Towards the Leynir Pass through Vaudaletta(z) little Valley: from main road and about 300 meters after the great earth Parking (1.848m) and as many of the beginning of the dirt road to Benevolo Hut, turn left (abounding signs and panneaux; frontally splendid Vaudaletta Waterfall); by a brief descend reach the tiny Thumels's Village (1.879m), nearby the Rhêmes Doire (= Stream). Continue on ground road about other 100 meters to forest joining a little bridge upon a mini canyon; go up by a small path n° 11 (2.443m) and rejoin the P.N.G.P. Casotto (= Hunting House for the Rangers Guardians of the Great Paradise National Park; 2.480m). Again change direction in East, reaching the fork of two torrents in quota 2.574m; leaving thesecondary branch of Vaudaletta Torrent in right (Southeast) continue, without path, through a semicircular and diagonal tour into moraine, reaching the altitude of 2.746 meters. meters above the two lakes at an altitude of 2.860 meters. From this point, leaving the upper right a third, climb a short but steep scree slope that with a rocky gully in the final part leads to the Collar 3.026 meters on the East Ridge known as Tsambeina Collar. Following Westward this latter with a fairly easy climb is reached the Summit where there is a signal (EEA/F+/PD-; 3h'45/4h'15).
Verso il Colle del Leynir tramite il Valloncello della Vaudaletta: dalla strada regionale e circa 300 metri dopo il grande Parcheggio in terra battuta (1.848 m) ed altrettanti prima del divieto della strada poderale per il Rifugio Benevolo, girare a sinistra (cartelli ed abbondanti segnalazioni; frontalmente splendida Cascata di Vaudaletta) e, con breve discesa, raggiungere il grazioso Villaggio di Thumel (1.879 m), presso la Dora di Rhêmes. Continuare sulla strada sterrata per un centinaio di metri e verso il bosco raggiungendo un ponticello sovrastante un mini canyon. Prendere a salire per mezzo del piccolo sentiero n° 11, con numerosi e stretti tornanti, attraverso la foresta e fiancheggiando il percorso del Torrente Vaudaletta e relativa cascata. Vincendo il primo ripido risalto il sentiero lambisce il torrente vicino ad un vasto altipiano con percorso in falsopiano; subito dopo, cambiando direzione da Sudest in Nord-nordest ed attraversando al di sotto dell'Alpe Vaudaletta (2.443 m), raggiunge il Casotto del P.N.G.P. (2.480 m). Variando nuovamente direzione in E raggiungere la biforcazione del Torrente Vaudaletta a quota 2.754 m; abbandonando sulla destra (Sudest) il ramosecondario del torrente, con percorso in diagonale e semicircolare sulla morena, raggiungendo l'altitudine di 2.746 metri. Seguendo il torrente con un ultimo diagonale al margine sinistro portarsi al di sopra dell'altitudine 2.976 metri soprastante i due laghetti a quota 2.860 metri. Da questo punto, lasciandone in alto sulla destra un terzo, salire un breve ma ripido pendio detritico che con un canalino roccioso nella parte finale conduce al Colletto 3.026 metri sulla Cresta Orientale detto Colletto della Tsambeina. Seguendo verso Ovest quest'ultima con un'abbastanza facile scalata si raggiunge la Sommità dove è posto un segnale (EEA/F+/PD-; 3h'45/4h'15).
