LOL....darn girl scouts anyway. Bunch a show offs. Thanks for your comments, always nice to find out that there are others who have had similar experiences. Have a great 2007.
Long story short, we were hiking the Presidential Range. My car was at the finish TH, but I left my keys at the starting TH. I realized this in the middle of the night. So at 5am, I jogged down to the TH, got my keys, and jogged/hiked up to camp. I ate a small bowl of oatmeal, then headed up Mt. Washington with the group. At the top of Tuckermans Ravine I bonked. Thankfully I had a trail angel... an 80-year-old man who was keeping up with me, if not going faster. Like a sherpa, he dragged me to that summit. I ate about 10,000 calories at the restaurant on top (the only time I was thankful for the developed summit) and hiked the rest of the range without incident.
Always look forward to your TR's. I plan on going over to Idaho sometime in 07'. Not sure to do what yet but ( so much to do )but I'll try to give you a heads up when and maybe we can hook-up.
Once again great read. Thanx, Oren
Glad you made it up!- a little food, water, and a challenge goes a long way. Nice write up on your trip and bonking. I'm looking to do Kings this summer.
Thank you Sean. I wish you the best on Kings but don't overlook doing nearby Gilbert, the third highest peak in Utah and the county highpoint of Summit county. Who knows, someday you may end up chasing county highpoints and you'll be glad you got it while you were nearby. : )
Nice trip report and photos. I particularly liked the shot of the (4) Bull Moose. I think that I saw the same group when I visited Ha, Ha :). But, no one believed me when I told the story of seeing 4 of these big fellows hanging out together(they are probably not so chummy come rut). Now I have proof.

Re: I, too, know the BonkGreat story. This 80 year old guy must have been in pretty good shape. We have a local guy, 83 years old, who climbs Mt. Rainier each summer.
