Didn’t find any cherries or any cherry trees but overall it was a very nice trail through the forest and then a fairly steep climb up to the ridge. Summiting from the ridge was not super har

Smoke
Outside of the nearest mountains you couldn't see anything. It wasn't a good day to get some views

two peak day
from Tony Grove - topped Naomi and continued hike to Cherry. Very nice views all around; disappointed with all of the graffiti painted on the summit bedrock.

Tony Grove to Cherry Peak Resort
Bagged Cherry Peak while mapping for invasive weeds between Tony Grove and the bottom of Cherry Creek Canyon. Probably the best route is to tackle from Tony Grove. Small side trip to High Creek Lake is a fun option.

The weather was pretty rugged the couple of days before I went, so I was relieved to have a perfect September day for this climb. Great day!

Exposure
Hiked up High Creek Canyon to High Creek Lake, then up to the pass and east along the ridge to the summit of Cherry Peak. The exposure was exhilarating.
Gem of an area at least as of 2000. Great alpine feel. High Creek route to summit. Descended Cherry Creek. Cherry Creek drainage is wonderful up high for wildflowers. Summit ridge is amazing. Would like to thank the local Boy Scout troop of Richmond for having much troop pride and showing their conservation skills by painting their troop number on the summit. Classy leader they had.

Cherry Peak
Started at Tony Grove then to Mt. Naomi then to Cherry Peak.
Took the Cherry Creek Route. It was shady for most of the morning. A beautiful canyon with plenty of water and bushwacking. I saw one deer and a fox or possibly a small coyote. The fox was sprinting below the peak while I was descending. I only wished I could cover ground as well as he could. I was beat by the time I was through. Hot and sunny on the way down. About 9 hours round trip. Nobody else was around.
Summer 1998 - Climbed Cherry Peak from Tony Grove. We descended down from the saddle near Naomi Peak and climbed up the ridge. Nice view and no other people that day.
