First day of a two day backpacking trip. Views are amazing. Crowded on the summit.

One way from Tenaya to the Valley
I think this summit is actually more scenic than Half Dome! The hike is dramatic, on the narrow ridgeline you look down the deep canyon and can see for hundreds of miles on a clear day. You can hit both CR and HD on a comforable overnight from Tenaya Lake down to Happy Isles. Well worth it.

nice climb...
but a little hazy. None-the-less, the best views of the valley.

Unable to un-gape my jaw
Part of a 2-night backpacking trip (Echo Valley 1st night, Little Yosemite 2nd night). Fantastic views of everything in Yosemite from the summit on this perfect day. Took a nap on the summit, then did some scrambling on the pinnacles before heading down.
Hiked in from Tenaya Lake. Did the round trip in 5 1/2 hrs. Fast and light. Good weather at the top.

where the wind rests
Beautiful view with lots of wind. It was part of our training for Whitney and I had on my new shoes (not a good way to break it in). The view was much nicer than the crowded Half Dome.
hiked up to little yosemite, camped a night, left at 6:15 am in the morning to do clouds rest, saw the sunrise, made the top by 9:00. beautiful views, at all the angles. you can see just about everything. left the top around 9:20am, then hiked to half dome via the trail (JMT), and made the top of half dome at 11:20am. beautiful views as well, not as good as clouds rest, tons of peeps on the summit. on the way down, ran out of water, drink right out of the stream, hiked down to happy isles, and got back at 3ish.

My 1st Sierra peak done as part of a loop trip from Sunrise Lakes trail. It was a long time ago but remember that the views were great.

From Valley Floor
After a failed attempt on 06.24.06 involving swimming across Tenaya Lake to get to the TH and getting lost in the snow, decided to summit Clouds Rest from the Happy Isles side on 07.03.06. Stunning view, but sort of a challenge... as I hiked this, I kept thinking: "John Muir must've been totally ripped!" Clouds Rest is my favorite summit view ever! Next summer, I hope to double bag Clouds Rest with Half Dome from the Valley.

My favorite hike so far!
Hiked from Sunrise Lakes to Yosemite Valley via Clouds Rest and Half Dome with Bud, Trent, and Stephen. The views from Clouds Rest were the best. My brother Brian and his wife Amaryah thought enough of the views to hang out for 3 and 1/2 hours at the summit before heading back to the trailhead rather than following us down to Half Dome and the valley.

Better views than Half Dome
The views are better, but without the waterfalls. Less crowded too, though not by much. Been up here twice. Tenaya Canyon sure is beautiful.

Valley Floor Dayhike
Climbed up from the valley floor after a quick jaunt up Half Dome first. The climb never seemed to end, though the views from the top are spectacular, well worth the effort.
Climbed Clouds Rest and Half Dome as part of a long day on a backpacking trip

A pleasant hike. Skip the trail near the top and find a clean granite scramble. (x2) From Yosemite Valley in December, camping on top (December 6, 2008).
