I was hoping to first do this and then get on California Riding and Hiking Trail. It was in mid 20s degrees F with sustained winds of 40 MPH gusting to 60 MPH. My face and my hands in gloves were getting numb. Each time I removed my gloves to take a picture, my hands became very painful. That is why I only went to the viewpoint and then returned home.
