Near the Welsh head of the valleys town called Hirwaun there is an area called Hirwaun Common. This is when you head south from Hirwaun on the A4061 and climb up a steep road with hair pin bends throughout. When you reach the top of the road there is a viewpoint and you look across the west to these impressive crags that shadow the man made lake of Llyn Fawr.
The viewpoint also offers great views north of the full summits throughout the Brecon Beacons National Park.
