When you are as cool as me, dates are just silly details. Climbed this one once. Tough hike, but probably out of shape again. I like being fat and hairy.

Ice House
Went up late on a Sun and made it back before dark. Views weren't that great due
to smog/fires.

Warm day, but great views!!
Decided to go last minute Sat morning, started my hike a bit after 10:30 pretty warm day. Saw the usual crowds going up Icehouse. And about 10 people on the summit, much more than expected. Great views to Catalina!!

Sugarloaf-Etiwanda Traverse
An enjoyable outing with Ryan Spaulding, Rick Graham, Tom Becht, and Glenn Gookin. Extremely cold temps and some fresh snow made for a winter wonderland. Trip Report

Icehouse Canyon
Hiked with my son, home from college. Beautiful day and nice temperatures. Icehouse Canyon definitely lived up to its name, as there was lots of ice on the lower part of the trail and snow on the upper portion. The views from the top are awesome.

5 Peaks Hike
Hiked 5 peaks (plus Ontario false peak) with Travis via Falling Rock Canyon (great cl.2/3 scramble.) Hit Sugarloaf, Ontario, Bighorn, Cucamonga, and Etiwanda before exiting via the Icehouse Canyon trail. We were fortunate to get great views from all five summits before the clouds enveloped the peaks.

From Icehouse Canyon
A very cool 7am start from the Icehouse Canyon trailhead. It was a beautiful day except that it was extremely windy and cold on the summit. It's a beautiful summit with a variety of panoramic views if you walk to each edge. I followed this peak up with Ontario Pk and Bighorn Pk. Great day in the San Gabriel high country!
Dayhiked a long time ago. The only thing I remember from the hike was that it was really smoggy.

Tons of People, then nobody
We arrived at the Icehouse Canyon trailhead at 8:15 only to find the parking lot totally packed. There must have been a hiking club of some sorts because we passed at least 100 people coming back down the trail within the first mile and a half. After that we were leap frogging a few people until we reached the saddle. Given all the people we saw thus far it was really interesting that from the sadde to the peak we only saw three people and that was almost at the summit.
It was a great day and beautiful views!

Icehouse Canyon
Cool fall day. Nobody around at sun up, but the usual conga line by mid morning.
Hiked this in 2003 before the Old Fire wiped away San Sevaine. Great road and trail. Hopefully it's back up and running soon, or is it already? Ice House Canyon is cool, but always crowded.

4th Of July Spectacular
Dad Summited by 2pm via Icehouse with my 10 year old sister and his friend Micah. He camped the night and said the view of the fireworks was awesome. Could even see Fireworks out to the beach and Catalina , Very Fun. But 50lb packs are heavy and tiring.
This hike took Sarah and I longer than expected but it was well worth the walk down in the dark; an amazing summit view.

Left early and arrived on the summit at 9:45. Day was clear and views exceptional. Headed down to Cucamonga saddle and then followed ridgeline on up to Bighorn and then onto Ontario. A long day of hiking but worth it!
