"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

Return visitTook a daughter up this old standby from 30 years ago. It's still a wonderful climb with some variety that keeps your attention.

great josh climbused to climb this a bunch especially with beginners back in the 90s. After some time off from climbing, I went back and almost crapped my pants. Gotta love Joshua Tree.

Great IntroThis was the first place we headed to for our JTree trip. A great easy intro to JTree rock.

Double DipI liked the route. We took turns doing a couple of laps at the end of a day.

First JTree leadClimbed with Torger Johnson. The flake was easy enough, but the friction climbing above it gave me pause. JTree slab climbing is quite unlike Sierra granite. Big fun !

Double DipI've climbed Double Dip several times over a period of 6 or 7 years. I think the route has gotten polished over the years; the last time I climbed it it seemed a bit more difficult.

folowed the leaderMy first climb in J Tree (not counting the first two days of bouldering). It was a very nice slab and long enough to really get in to it and enjoy it. I found the down climb little weird, but I don't think we went down the easiest way...
