road walk
I parked a bit above the road junction, at the last cattle guard. Took me 93 minutes to hoof it to the fire tower from there, where a young chap from Washington state was manning his post. Developing storms forced me to leave at noon and I was back at my car by 120 PM. The road is suitable for passenger cars well beyond the sign that says- Eagle Peak 5 at the road junction.

Nice easy hike
The 4wd to get to the mountain was extremely bumpy and it was partially open range. The hike was easy and there were views on the summit of Arizona to the west and the surrounding mountains.

Long drive, short hike
15.5-mile drive on Forest Road 233, last 3.3 miles were 4WD. Great scenery driving through the canyons below. The hike was short, 0.9 miles with 483 feet elevation gain. Nice views at the top. No snow yet.
