Route Climbed: South Ridge.  Sucess!

Wow, I haven't climbed this mountain since 2001. It's not a popular mountain due to its typical bad weather.

Climbed with Franz (HOL), Justin (ENG), Jonnathan (ENG) and Jaime (ECU).

We started our climb/hike at 3,700 m at 5:45 am. Climbed and scrambled by a long steep ridge that ended up at the true summit.

Got to the top (4,791 m/ 15,718 ft) 3 hours later:it snowed a lot during the approaching but it lasted only 1 hour.

It cleared up a bit on the way down and we were able to see Illinizas and Cotopaxi in the east, as well as Tungurahua erupting in the distance.

Very enjoyable.

Confusion on Corazon

A very beautiful area but very confusing trailhead and routes indeed. We spent so long finding our route that by the time we did we needed to turn back.
