Final ridge to Matterhorn's summit

The summit ridge of Matterhorn reaches it's aesthetic climax right about...... here. We climbed in late May '08, and there was plenty of snow left (more than is usual for this time of year)

By the way...

This is the the Matterhorn peak located in between Uncompahgre and Wetterhorn in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado (no page seems to exist for it yet...)

Great picture. I like the light! Actually, the snow in the San Juans this year is closer to normal. The recent years have been abnormally dry. If the San Juans stay on a "normal" course, you can expect more and more and more snow to pile up.
