Night Cap Peak (10,640')

I took this photo on May 7, 2004, just a few miles east of Dardenelle, California. I was traveling east on Hwy 108 towards Kennedy Meadow and Sonora Pass. It didn't have too much snow left on it, this being its northeast face. Alpinist guessed it correctly! "Along the western slopes of the central Sierra, the gentle terrain of Emigrant Wilderness, which was shaped by glaciers and volcanos, offers the easiest access to northern Yosemite NP. The Kennedy brothers established Kennedy Meadows Resort in 1886, and the area has focused on recreation ever since. It first received protection as Emigrant Basin Primitive Area in 1931 and became a wilderness area in 1975." - Lonely Planet Publications
