"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Halloween HikeFun hike with the kids. Magnificent and remote feel despite the proximity to the highway and PCT. Sweeping views of the desert and surrounding peaks.

Nice short hikeAfter completing the drive to the top of Palomar, I headed over to the Laguna Mountains to complete this short hike before driving to my work retreat. This was a nice short hike, albeit a bit hot, with spectacular views in all directions. Winter would be ideal rather than June, but it's a fair ways from San Diego and I never seem to have enough time, so I decided to do it now rather than wait for the perfect conditions to hike it.

Snowing on GarnetAgain, one of those spur of the moment ideas....Joan and I decided to do a quick trip from San Diego and chose this peak. No views, but we had snow all the way. No one else around.
