Steep as heck but some of the most amazing views in the Elks.

Gothic Goodness
Beautiful peak with wildflowers to enjoy along the way. A bunch of downed trees made for fun log jumping in the forested areas. Last bit before hitting the false summit is pretty steep. I should have taken poles. Views from the summit are gorgeous!
hiked up from the Washington gulch trailhead (gothic side). windy and cold for an early fall day

Traverse from Baldy
With Megan & Katie Berry. Dropped off at Schofield Pass; over Baldy (lovely narrow ridge up from Schofield Pass); on to Gothic Mtn via standard route from the pass between Baldy & Gothic; down to Gothic/RMBL via a sharp gully descent off the S end of the mountain. Nice ridge-y day.
From Wash gulch. No lie, an Elk was about 200 feet from the summit on the south side. Once he saw us, he started walking intentionally (I can read Elk intentions) toward us. We took off. What else was there to do, b*tch? Fun route. Steep as all get out. Honestly almost 30 degrees for a long time. Uphill both ways.

North RidgeQuick solo hike up the north ridge before the winds rolled in. Lovely view of the fall color in the valleys below.

Gothic MountainStarted at 6:20, back at 12:00. Was becoming cloudy/stormy on the summit but on the way down, clouds went away.
