All alone
Done with Balsam Lake for little Friday training hike. Rained first few miles but turned out tea nice on way down. Unmarked but easy to follow trail. I was only one on either mountain today so some quiet time, other than when I had to shoe a stubborn deer off the trail.
Hit this at the three hour mark after tagging Balsam Lake Mtn first. The herd path was very well defined. I was completely unaware of the old radio tower until I laid eyes on it. Still plenty of snow.

Balsam lake and Graham
Hiked up Balsam lake and Graham Mts with a CNY group. The trail from Millbrook rd was almost a groomed walkway.The herd path over to Graham summit was well defined and in nice shape. This trip was perhaps the easiest I have hiked in a very long time.. We climed on the structure at the summit to get a semi rewarding view as well....Jim W
