Awesome trail. Lead a trip down here with NAU Outdoors. Cottonwood Creek was gorgeous at the shade that the Cottonwoods provided was spectacular. Amazing area. Miners spring is also really unexpected and pretty.

Rugged, steep & fun!
Horseshoe Mesa is a wild part of the Canyon. Grandview
is the highest point along the South Rim. Allow yourself
plenty of time, and don't go in August like I did.

Canyon Intro
My first canyon hike. Went to Horseshoe Mesa on a trail that is much more rugged and fun than the well travelled route of Bright Angel. At the cave a spelunker brought us through a few openings but I was quickly intimidated by the swiss cheese interior. Don't go in lightly.
