They redid the state highpoint for Iowa. This is the new monument to Iowa's highest point. The sign posts point to each of the other 49 state highpoints, with the distance to each. July 25, 2009.

Mosaic

Is the mosaic where the actual summit is? It certainly changed since we been there. Kinda lost its charm.

I believe so but I could not find a USGS marker anywhere to indicate where the actual highpoint is. I tried to get a picture of the mosaic but couldn't zoom out far enough with my camera to get a full shot of it.

I actually thought the HP looked very nice, especially compared with White Butte, which I just climbed.
