Exciting to see

Humphreys Peak on there!

Also, exciting to see a sign on SP, as I was
getting tired of looking at flowers, butterflies and Trango Towers.

Did you notice...

that Guadalupe Peak is listed as being closer to Iowa than Wheeler Peak even though it is 400 miles straight south of Wheeler Peak?

Re: Did you notice...

I missed that sign. I wonder if the distances are calculated by driving miles, and the roads to Guadalupe are more direct than Wheeler. (Yeah, that's it... :-)

Re: Did you notice...

I did a Mapquest on both Guadalupe vs. Wheeler and Gannett vs. Granite. The signs appear inaccurate to me. I'll have to email Dave Covill when he gets back from the Highpointers Konvention and ask him.

Re: Did you notice...

Don't be too hard on them. I'm not sure the good people of Iowa have ever actually seen a mountain. It's not surprising that they don't know where the other HPs are. :-)

Re: Did you notice...

Not all the distances are accurate. It is over 400 miles driving to Eagle Mountain in MN and that is only listed as 201. It is a fun addition to this site, but would be nice if it was accurate.
