Since there is no page for Hetch Hetchy yet, I am attaching this image to the Yosemite Valley one.
For me, this is a glorious, serene, beautiful and sad place at the same time. There is a huge and ugly dam just out of view. I am very conflicted about the existence of this dam. One side of me despises its ugliness, the defacement of this incredible place, the strict "national security area curfew". Another side is happy that the backcountry that surrounds this place is still pristine and uninfested with concessions, tour buses, lodges and pollution, unlike the nearby Yosemite Valley. Where do you stand on this subject?
There is also a lot of climbing activity in the area as we speak. I am aware of a few big wall and hard free climbing projects in motion.
