Overview
The Santnerpass hut is located at the Santnerpass, at the west side of the Rosengartenspitze in the Catinnacio area.
It is a privat hut built of wood in 1965.
It is located at a beautiful place with a great view to Latemar, Ortler Alps, Schlern and Brenta. It is a great place for a sunset!

ATTENTION:
The hut was closed at the end of the summer 2005 and a new hut was reconstructed. There is no accomodation at the moment. The outside parts of the hut has been completed. The inside rooms weren´t finished yet (February 2007). So at the moment it is not known if the hut will be re-opened in in early summer 2007. 3) From Rif. A. Fronza alle Coronelle / Kölner hut (2339 m) - via route 542, that´s the via ferrata Santnerpass - Passo Santner - Rif. Passo Santner / Santnerpass hut
Time for this route: 2 h
Route No. 3 is the most beautiful possibility to reach the hut.
From Rif. Passo Santner / Santnerpass hut you reach the Rif. Re Alberto I / Gartl hut (2621 m) via the route 542 in 40 minutes.
A great climbing route is the Cima Catinaccio / Rosengarten Spitze (2981 m), difficulty from III to VII.
Villages near the hut
The Rosengarten / Catinnacio is in the Tiers valley in the Dolomites with the villages Tiers and Welschnofen on the west side and the Fassa valley on the east side.The mountains of this area run in the direction south to north and has a length of 8 km.
From Karerpass (1758 m) you can reach the Rif. A. Fronza alle Coronelle / Kölner hut (2339 m) by a ropeway.
