17th Summit on this Trip
I loved this hike with my 2 dogs ! We parked my Jeep somewhere out in the desert and just headed up the washes, eventually worked our way up the ridges, and climbed through the monstrous boulders. Views are amazing.

Paint job!
Hiked with Bard. Beautiful views, lovely granite peak. Only one other entry in the summit log since November 2011! Probably because the dirt road in causes havoc with one's vehicle paint job...I winced to hear the creosote bushes scratching my F150.

Ridge Traverse
Planned on doing just the Bard/Ireteba loop and saw all the commentary on the northern summit in the Ireteba registry so I decided to continue north to tag that one in addition.
By my GPS, the northern summit was the higher peak.
Amusingly, one of the interim bumps had a small registry placed in 1987 naming the bump "Darb Peak" and declaring it as the range highpoint as well.
Easy class 2 scramble on the whole ridge and a nice clear cool 60 degree spring day.

real highpoint?
On the previous usgs map, the highpoint was marked as substantially to the north of the current register. The new map is based on just photogrammetry, and has some clear errors. Based on long GPS averages, I think the true highpoint is actually that more northern peak -- at least, within the substantial uncertainty of the mapping.

Bard-Ireteba loopSometime in 2006, I bagged this one after Bard. Perhaps an hour or so car-to-car.
Then met some friends and did a much sweeter peak later that day.
