Climbed with Mont Comte and Mont de la Passe via the IAT. Saw a herd of 20-25 caribou while descending Mont Comte. There were still several snowfields in the col between Comte and Jacques-Cartier, one of which we had to traverse. Terrific views from the summit of Jacques-Cartier - the considering how relatively flat the summit is, the additional 20 feet or so from the observation tower was welcome.

Standard Trail
Nice hike up, hot at the bottom but cold at the top, wind was quite strong. Beautiful views and the caribou wandered around the summit while we were up there. Would do it again happily.
Cold! Warmed up in the hut with a school group. Cloudy, so could not see very far. The top looks like the north slope of Alaska

Took the kids this time
Took the kids up the standard route from the east side on this trip. They were thrilled to see the Caribou on the summit plateau!

Hiked with kids
We made up to the top of Jacques-Cartier on Thursday, June 24th - opening day. There were a few patches of snow covering parts of the trail. It was quite windy at the top! My kids, ages 9 and 11 had fun and enjoyed the hike.

As a side trip on our honeymoon. Il n'y avait personne.
Route Climbed: Trail from the east Date Climbed: July 2005
A very overcast foggy day prevented us from getting the beautiful views we got from Mt. Richardson the day before. We didn't see any caribou unfortunately. It is a nice easy hike and very fun. I definitely want to come back and ski some time.
Route Climbed: From the SW Date Climbed: July 1999
Spent a night at the Tetras Refuge. A beautiful spot to sleep. Approaching Jacques Cartier from the SW side meant I got to hike in the whole way and only saw 4 other people in 2 days before meeting the swarms on the summit. Plenty of snow still around in late July and numerous caribou sightings.
