Last Sierra Hike this AutumnWith the road to quickly approach Mitchell Peak closed, the dogs and I opted to hike up to a highpoint (~9,600 ft.) NW of Jennie Peak before heading down and bringing our autumn Sierra hikes of 2013 to a close. The Silliman Crest looked nice at sunset with a dusting of snow.

Stony Creek CG to Jennie Peak WinterThe dogs and I had a fine day of hiking and snowshoeing along the Stony Creek Trail, and then cross country along the border with Sequoia NP up to Jennie Peak (overlooking Jennie Lake). Views of the snow covered Silliman Crest, Alta Peak area, Mineral King area, and the Great Western Divide were the highlight of the day. Stormy, cool weather rolled in as I left.

From Fox Meadow THSummited Peak 9612 (Jennie Peak) after reaching and walking around Jennie Lake via the Poison Meadow route to and beyond Poop Out Pass. To make a quicker, easier return loop, I hiked west and northwest, coming down from the peak off-trail heading toward Poop Out Pass. Views from the ridge above Jennie Lake were better than on the trail
