Glorious day
From Cerise Creek we climbed the long snow slope along Joffre's South |east corner and then joined the scramble route. The rock was fantastic, the snow perfect and the weather clear and hot. We witnessed a helicopter rescue on the glacier far below us. A climber on a BCMC trip fell while scrambling down Matier. He was alive and not critical but had to be evacuated

Climbed via NW ridge direct from Duffey Lake road
Fantastic old school route with several loose modeate alpine pitches close to the summit. Saw two giant house size seracs crash down several hundred feet towards the lake on descent, sounded like sonic booms.

Great weekend trip with Perry, Adrian and Pierre.
Friday night camp at the parking lot, after a drive from Van. Approaching by ski from anniversary glacier we camped at the high col and climbed Matier the same afternoon.
Upon returning to camp suitably exhausted, we saw Adrian racing off toward Joffre. Of course we had to follow him up the Aussie couloir as well just to finish ourselves off. No difficulties with enough snow, fantastic but-slide down afterwards.
Hartzell and Spetch offered fine snow climbs the next day.
