Great mountain!
What a fun hike! Views start out good and only get better and better. My son (age 5) hiked it and enjoyed it with no problems. There's a pretty new summit register listing about one ascent per month. Great little peak for a cloudy day in Death Valley!

6 days in the desert
We searched carefully for the summit register mentioned in other reports but could not find one.
We also did Eagle Mountain, Beatty Mountain, Bonanza Mountain, Sutherland Mountain, Rainbow Mountain, Black Peak, Thimble Peak, Manly Beacon, Golden Canyon Peak, Pyramid Peak, and Corkscrew Peak. We also explored Rhylite Ghost Town, Leadfeild Ghost Town, Titus Canyon, Golden Canyon, Sidewinder Canyon, Badwater, Mosaic Canyon, and the Mesquite Dunes.

Lil Mtn, big reward
Winter 2013
Climbed solo on a morning before work. Short, easy route with classic DV loose rock. Nice view into the Owlsheads. What else can I say, very alluvial!

North Slopes
Nothing like a good desert peak. Quick ascent, great view. Back at camp drinking beers by lunch.

Great warm-up hike
We camped overnight in the area the night before and after reading Zdon's entry about the peak, decided it would be a great early morning warm up hike. We were not disappointed! Great views of the southern end of Death Valley and the Panamints.
I was listening to Sigur Ros as I approached this peak from the east--an inspiring view, so it has a new unofficial name. I made it from Jubilee Pass to the summit in about forty minutes, thanks to a very steep route up the lower slopes to the north ridge. Awesome views of seldom seen portions of southern Death Valley--the Narrows of the Amargosa River, Owlshead Mountains, etc.
I got the feeling that this is a very rarely climbed peak. There was a pile of rusty wire and old wooden posts near the summit.
A nice descent route is the gully on the northwest side of the peak--some nice scrambling down a few dryfalls.
