King and Me
Liba and I made the classic link up of Maiden Voyage and the King and Me. We had the routes to ourselves on a perfect weather Monday in June. King and Me was really good I thought and really just a 5.9 fun fest as I could not find any real 5.10 move on the first pitch. It is steep off the deck but super positive. You can place all the micro cams and small wires you want at protect the start, so I did not sense the “PG13” rating given by the local guide either. Most 5.9 climbers will find the roof pull atop pitch three the actual crux of the route. The middle pitch offered intermittent crack climbing with a fun stem and traverse left at the end.

What a great way to finish Maiden Voyage. I can't believe it took me so long to climb it. Very enjoyable route, route finding not hard and did not feel 5.10. Will definitively repeat this one.
June 27 - 2nd time, after doing Newberry Delight, Maiden Voyage and King Me link up. What a day!
