Lava Butte from atop Pinnacle
View looking north-northeast towards Lava Butte from Pinnacle in Rainbow Gardens. Pinnacle is also known locally as "Hitchhiker's Butte." Between Lava Butte and Pinnacle can be seen Red Needle. This photo is posted eight years and one day after scrambling up this formation with my two sons (10 and 12 years old back then) and two daughters (5 and 7 years old). They sure grew up fast!
