Been by this mountain many times, but I finally got around to hiking here. There was lots of thick underbrush on the east side and I stepped into some snake's nest. Fortunately, non-poisonous! At the summit, there were a number of vultures circling. I could never figure out what had their interest (hoped it wasn't me!). The view was great, but not the most enjoyable hike. If I ever do this one again, it will be from the west side.

This was one of three neat little peaks enjoyed in the Black Hills this day. This was also the only mountain we saw other people on (one Jeep Wrangler 2 door CRAMMED full of folks!) The beetle kill is depressing, but the wildflowers on the slopes were lovely!
